The questionnaire's results show that my cover is generally seen as better than the original although the original was largely poor. There were too many pictures all focused on one subject that were also low quality. These were all criticisms I had noted in my own analysis of it and I was pleased to know they felt the same way. One thing that I hadn't considered about the original is that it "looks too much like a prospectus" which is something else I'll need to be wary of when creating the cover, although one of the reasons mine was preferred was for actually looking like a magazine.

I considered following one of the ideas about a seasonal theme, but as it was winter this would mean using cold colours that would connote the wrong things about the college.

The teasers and range of topics seemed to be fairly successful, but as the original had neither of these it's hard to gauge whther this is because of that or because they're genuniely good.

It also shows there are some issues with the title of the magazine, but little ideas on what a preferred alternative would be. This shows I'll have to put particular consideration into this aspect of the magazine.

  1. It's really interesting that the feedback from students echoes what you had already thought. The comment that it looks like a prospectus suggests that the magazine is targeted more at parents than at students - something you can really address in your cover. The lack of enthusiasm from the students could be because they feel their needs aren't being met - something you can sort out. This is all really helpful feedback!
